House

This blog is now also going to be used to write my Basic Comp. journal entries. So, my TV show pick to write about for this week is House.

*****

House is still interviewing candidates to take place of Foreman, Cameron, and Chase. The candidates that are left are Thirteen, Kutner, Taub, Brennan, Amber, and Cole. Also back on the scene is Foreman who accepted the job to work back at the hospital because no other hospital would hire him because he became too much like House; something he quit to avoid becomming in the first place. But this time, Foreman is in charge of keeping House in place and making sure he doesn't go too far.

Dr. Cuddy introduces Dr. Foreman to the candidates and describes his new job. She makes sure to tell them that everything they do has to be signed off by Foreman first, even if House says it's okay. House points out how much he doesn't want to work with Foreman but Cuddy doesn't care.

The case they are working on evolves a man who had gotten mugged by two teens who stole his wallet before getting sick, and has memory loss so no one knows what his name is. They nickname him Mr. X and try to find out what's wrong with him. Amber and Brennan do a stress test on him which causes his limbs to tingle and his stomach to hurt, which shouldn't happen during a stress test.

House tells Foreman that if he doesn't leave, he'll make him miserable. Foreman tells house that he's already miserable and walks away. House decides to make Cuddy miserable until she fires Foreman.

While the team tries to figure out what's wrong with him, they get a call that Mr. X has crashed. They find him laying on the floor unconcious and as they try to help him, Foreman tells House that he thinks the guy is faking and has Munchausen's syndrome. House doesn't agree, so Foreman points out the board with all the patients and their conditions written on it and says that Mr. X is imitating all his neighbors illnesses.

House thinks on it for a moment then realizes that Mr. X is wearing a doctor's coat. He notes that people with Munchausen's immitate patients, not doctors. He tells Foreman that Mr. X really has Giovannini Mirror Syndrome which makes him unknowining copy the personalities and pick up on the inner thoughts of those he comes in contact with. Foreman still thinks he's faking.

To prove Foreman wrong, house dresses Mr. X in scrubs and takes him into a surgery that Dr. Wilson is performing. After Wilson talks to house about him and Foreman's situation of not getting along, Mr. X copies Wilson's personality and tells House that he's "Deflecting." among other things. Wilson says he likes the guy. Mr. X then, after watching Wilson doing the surgery for a few minutes, picks up a scalpal and tries to cut the patient. House quickly grabs his hand and stops him. He pulls off Mr. X's glove and cuts him with the scalpal. He turns to Foreman who's watching from the booth and tell him that his blood is frozen and there's no way he's faking that.

Later, House, Foreman and the candidates walk to the cafeteria dicussing what to do for Mr. X. House says it's an infection and orders tests to find out what kind. As they walk into the cafeteria, House shouts to everyone that they just dicovered the mayonnaise is tainted and that everyone needs to go see Dr. Cuddy to complain. As the mob of people rush out, Foreman tries to tell everyone that he's a doctor and there's nothing wrong with the mayo. House lies and says Foreman has a mail order degree and everyone continues to leave.

House points out the fact that Mr. X had car keys in his pocket and sends Thirteen and Cole to go find the man's car so they can have some clues as to who he is. Meanwhile, the rest of the doctors perform the different tests on Mr. X who mimics them and they get unwanted insight about themselves that they never knew.

.... There's a lot more to this episode, but I think this entry is getting a little long, so I'll cut to the end. They eventually find out that Mr. X is a farm equipment salesman from Ohio and got a disease from "pig poo", as House puts it, called eperythrozoon. They treat him for it. House doesn't fire anyone this time, even though everyone made a ton of mistakes. But Foreman realizes that he didn't fire anyone because the whole hospital was having a bet on who got fired or not and Chase bet that no one would. House has a agreement to split the winning with Chase. Foreman says he won't tell, and also he won't quit. He's staying because he likes it there.

I HATE Math Tests

I studied. I learned. I got everything down and figured out my methods. But what got me in the end? Time. I can't do math problems but so fast without messing up. If I go too fast, I lose my places, carried numbers, or decimals. So I go as fast as I can without screwing myself over and when I do that, I run out of time.

I thought I was soooo ready for today's math mid-term, but I ran out of time before I could finish all of the problems! I tried to rush, but that didn't help much. If I fail, it's because of all the lost points from the missed problems. I hate tests.. math tests especially. I need more time! :(

Blargh!

Tired again today. I didn't get much sleep last night because two of my cats decided they wanted to scream loudly to get in and out of my room all night, so I was in and out of bed playing door man for them. Then, when I finally did get to doze off fully, one cat decided to run around the house with a dead bird. Heaven knows where she got a dead bird from at 3AM in the morning, but I was the one who had to chase her around and get it away. After she ran into the basement, I decided "the hell with it" and just went back to sleep.

So, today I am tired and kinda irritated and cranky. I also forgot my umbrella so I hope it doesn't rain too bad on my way home. Oh well, I'll get over it once I get home and get to play some "My Sims" on my DS. I haven't had much time all week to play any games so I like the weekends because I can get my gaming done. My sister bought me "My Sims" about a month ago and I still haven't completed it due to lack of time. This weekend won't be all laziness though, as I have to study for math mid-terms for Tuesday. Yay :/

I'm pretty sure I did crappy on my Personal Development mid term as I didn't have enough time to complete or even guess at all the answers. I think I left 2 blank. Basic Comp. I'm not too sure about. I think I did fine with Applications and I just now did my Intro. to Micro. exam and I feel like I did pretty well. I know for sure I got one answer wrong because my mind just completely spaced. I guessed at it, but I know it's wrong... URL does not stand for Universal Route Location. Blargh...

Again?

Here I go complaining about math again. At least today I was actually following most of the math. I think some of it is finally sinking in. But when most of the class started talking amongst themselves, loudly, and rudely, I got lost again. I couldn't concentrate on what Mr. Nong was saying and my head started hurting. For some reason, I have a hard time ignoring multiple conversations going on at one time and my brain starts to try to listen and process them all together. Of course I can't properly do that so everything starts sounding like a bunch of gibberish, my ears start hurting, then my head.

So, today was a near murder in math class, but I escaped without death just a few injuries. I'll take the weekend to study and try to figure the rest of this out on my own. Maybe I'll pull a miracle and get at least a B on my math mid-term.

Just Tired

Today I am just tired. Tired, tired, tired. My brain didn't wake up this morning and I'll be going to sleep once I get home. I wish it was friday so I could sleep strait through to monday.

Well, that's all I have to say. I told you this wasn't going to be a interesting blog.

Murder in Math Class

Mr. Nong is a nice guy, but I think he tried to kill us today. At least, I left math with a few deep wounds in my brain. I need to take my time when learning new math techniques. It's confusing at first, but after a while something just clicks and I understand what I'm doing and it no longer looks like alien gibberish.

But Mr. Nong teaching something new and also 2 or 3 different ways to do it. I never know which metheod to follow and nothing makes sense. Also, as soon as one things barely begins to make sense, we seem to move on very quickly to another form of math which leaves my head spinning and hurting.

It's fine for those students who get math and like math, but I feel left behind after a hit and run.

Study Break

I've been studying for mid-terms for the past 2 days. I don't deeply study to the point of hurting my brain or getting frustrated because then I tend to forget everything. I usually just read over notes and read certain pages in my books to better understand some things I didn't quite get. It's more of a review than actual study, but it works for me and keeps me focused.

The only thing I'm really stressing over is math. When I'm taking a math test, everything seems to get erased from my brain. I guess because math is something I really hate and certain math problems (like dividing fraction or geometry) I really, really hate and see no real reason why I need to know them. After Mr. Nong's math class I usually leave with a bad headache or the start of a migraine. I started bringing ibuprofen with me to school just for that.

And so it begins...

I can't say I really have much to say in a blog. I tried, months ago, to have one but after a few postings I found that I really wasn't using it anymore and really didn't care to. But, since I have to do this blog as a homework assignment, I'll try to at least put something in regularly. I can't promise it will be very interesting though.

So, this blog is for a homework assignment at MCC/CTI for my Intro. to Micro Computers class. I know what a weblog is, I've seen and read some before, and my last blog attempt was even done here at blogger.com. I'm not really sure why I have to do this blog, but I do like to complete my assignments even if I don't fully understand them because, usually, I gain some understanding as I go.
